Who is Steve?

Hi, I’m Steve Pieroway. I’m a builder. One of my greatest strength is taking founder ideas and turning them into strategies that fuel growth.
For 16 years I worked through various roles at Policy Works, a small insurtech based in Canada, before our sale to Applied Systems. During this time I had the good fortune to work with two amazing founders and some of the best colleagues you could as for.
Though I’m a marketer by trade, I ran marketing, sales, service and support at different points throughout my Policy Works journey. I’m proud of the many things we accomplished, but one that stands out was our stripping-down and rebuilding of our revenue generation system in 2014. In 5 years we doubled recurring revenue in a mature, competitive market, setting us up for a successful exit.
Today, I run a consulting agency and act as a fractional CRO with Trufla
Principles Over Playbooks is a compilation of my learnings and experiences over the years. The goal is quite simple: provide tech founders with insights, ideas, challenges from a non-founder perspective. From the builder’s point-of-view.
